5 Rituals to Attract Positivity

- Ritual 1: Dhoop
Just like burning sage is considered to be cleansing and positive in many cultures, burning Sambrani or Dhoop attracts positivity according to Indic sciences. Dhoop is good for calming the nerves, cleansing the air, removing mosquitoes and bugs, relieving migraines and creating a spiritual atmosphere. - Ritual 2: Rangoli & Kolam
A combination of two words ‘Rang’ and ‘Avali’, Rangoli means a row of colours. Intended to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, it is a sign of prosperity, happiness and liveliness of a home. Kolam is a pattern made with rice water that too, is a sign of festivities and happiness. It is commonly placed outside homes in South India to mark an auspicious occasion. It is said that these activities attract positive energies to the house and keep its occupants happy.
- Ritual 3: Adorning the home with brass
Brass is considered as an auspicious metal and is said to attract positivity. Vedic texts show brass attracts abundance, wealth and generates a gentle tinkling sound pleasing to the Gods. - Ritual 4: Burning clove, camphor and Indic spices
Vastu Shastra believes this purifies the air, destroying harmful bacteria. The positive fumes generated during this ritual kill bacteria, harmful elements and negative vibrations from the space. Indic spices include spices like bay leaf, cinnamon and clove that can be burnt along with camphor and this can be placed at the mandir or the entrance of the home. It is also believed that this reduces financial problems and brings a good inflow of money in one’s life!
- Ritual 5: Lighting a diffuser with peppermint oil
Peppermint oil stimulates the olfactory nerves to calm the mind, centre focus and create an atmosphere of serenity. It boosts the body and mind’s vitality, thus improving the general mood. Studies show it can prevent fatigue and feelings of malaise. You can use a stone carved diffuser, light a tea lite candle and add a few drops of Peppermint Essential Oil every morning. The practice of lighting a diffuser every day at one place at one time is also a powerful tool of affirmation and manifestation. Implementation intention shows like doing an action at the same time in the same place makes it more likely to happen.
